Dear Bloxwich resident,

We hope you are having a safe and enjoyable week. Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Bloxwich neighbourhood policing team.

What’s been happening

       - Working with our Priority Crime Team we arrested a male on suspicion of shoplifting from the High Street and other locations in Bloxwich.

       - We have been visiting local businesses and shops on the High Street speaking to staff and listening to some of their concerns and offering advice. We’ve had some really positive feedback from local shops and members of the public who regularly see us walking around Bloxwich High Street.

       - We have been patrolling the area around ASDA following reports of people begging. We have spoken to a few individuals who have been advised and we will continue to monitor this. In addition, we have also had a meeting with our colleagues from Walsall Council to see what help and support could be offered to individuals who are sleeping rough or begging in the area.

A big thanks to

Turnberry Street Watch for their continued efforts and commitment in helping to keep their area safe. On Monday they carried out a patrol around the estate speaking to local and residents and generally helping to make the area a safer place to live.

Would you like to get involved with Street Watch?

Street Watch is a community-led project. It’s made up of groups of volunteers who are at least 18 years old. The groups go out and patrol their area. The patrols help to stop crime and anti-social behaviour. They also help people in the area get to know each other. As a Street Watch member, you'll patrol your local area alongside one of your neighbours for at least two hours every month, at times which suit you.

You'll talk to people you meet and encourage them to take an active interest in keeping your area safe. So, your neighbours know what you're there for, you wear a high-visibility Street Watch jacket.

You'll be supported by:

-the local Street Watch coordinator

-your local police

Crime Prevention Advice

As you start to enjoy the lighter and warmer nights let's not forget about keeping your home and valuables safe and secure. Criminals will take advantage of open windows and propped open doors, even if it’s the back door.

You can now download our Home Security Survey. You can use this simple guide to identify weaknesses in your own home security and do something about it by following the advice.
