Crimes and crime prevention advice

Good Afternoon Resident

On the Selly Oak Neighbourhood, Over the last week there has been:

2 Burglaries where tools were stolen from a conservatory, 2 Shed breaks the offender/s have stolen 2 unsecured bikes and 1 Theft from motor vehicle where the offender has removed the number plates from the car.

Now that summer time is here it is important to remember to make sure all your windows and doors on your vehicles are shut and to check that your fob has done its job by checking the doors are locked. Invest in anti-tamper screws for your registration plates.

We know its nice to have all the windows in your homes open to let the air circulate however if you are in the garden or the rear of your property make sure you have shut all your windows at the front to prevent opportunists thieves entering your property. Invest in anti snap locks for your exterior doors.

With sheds please make sure you have secured it with an alarm, any items with in the shed make a list of serial numbers for each item and take photographs of bicycles. You can invest in property marking kits.
