Dear Resident,

As national Volunteer’s Week comes to an end, I wanted to thank you for your voluntary service. 

Here in Solihull we’re seeing crime being driven down and officers making more arrests. That is in no small part thanks to the work of Street Watch coordinators, deputies and the actions of  members who are promoting security measures and reporting things that that require an intervention. As well as supporting local and force wide events.

The other good news is that we’re answering your calls faster and arriving at incidents more quickly. We’re also seeing more positive outcomes in our investigations. This is bad news for criminals but great news for everyone else. 

In recognition of your service and that of your members, I’d invite you to consider nominating your group or an individual member for formal recognition in our annual Excellence awards. You can also nominate members of your local neighbourhood policing team. 

Once again, thank you for your service and I look forward to receiving your award nominations.
