Chelmsley Wood Team Newsletter

Good Evening Resident

Chelmsley Team Newsletter 10th June

                                                                               Volunteers Week

We would like to thank all those who help out in the community in any capacity, you all go the extra mile to make Chelmsley Wood a great place to live, work & visit. This week we have been celebrating our community volunteers who join in with Streetwatch, Speedwatch and Neighbourhood Watch, it is your dedication, enthusiasm and community spirit that make it a joy to work alongside you.

This week we have spent time promoting Streetwatch in Marston Green as I would truly love to have a dedicated MG Streetwatch Team. The Chelmsley SW Team come over when they can but If you can spare 2hrs a month having a walk around please get in touch, our volunteers report fly tipping, rubbish, graffiti, potholes and streetlighting to the Council as they patrol. This all adds up to keeping our areas in tip top condition.

How about joining Neighbourhood watch, or if there isn’t one in your location setting one up. I’m sure you all read the Our Watch messages via WMNow and see the good work that is happening in communities similar to ours.

Are you Interested in joining us as a Community Speed Watch volunteer to help raise awareness of the danger of exceeding the speed limit? This set of shifts we were on Chaplehouse Road in the 20mph zone.

You'll work alongside your local policing team to help make the roads where you live safer 🚔

There are also community litter pickers cleaning up our areas on a regular basis, take a look at https://www.lovesolihull.org/groups or check out Clean & Green on facebook.

However, you help, we appreciate it, thank you.

    Can you help us?

The weather is improving and the off road bikes are out in our parks and open spaces. This is an issue that affects lots of our residents but isn’t easy for us to fix in a safe way.

My ask of you is, do you know where any of these bikes are stored or any addresses where they regularly come and go from?

If you have any information you can let us know totally anonymously by reporting via Crimestoppers.

Lets work together to stop this nuisance. We have days planned to work with the West Midlands Police Off Road Bike Team and this information would help us greatly.

    Stay safe and well

    Your local Neighbourhood Police Team
