Weekly update from the Oldbury neighbourhood policing team

Dear Residents,

Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Oldbury neighbourhood policing team.

What’s been happening

  • PCSO’s have attended the local Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) and spoke to people attending the temple and have been invited back to attend Diwali celebrations.
  •

  • PCSO’s have visited a local children's home and engaged with the resident who lives at the address. The youngster enjoyed sitting in a police van and taking photos with officers.
  •

  • Oldbury neighbourhood officers have attended Tividale Community Primary School to deliver an input on knife crime and the consequences of carry a knife. Great listening from all pupils involved.
  •

  • PC & PCSOs have been doing school patrols after having reports that there was some altercation with parents after school, luckily there has not been any further incidents.
  •

  • Oldbury Team 1 and partnering agencies have searched an address in the area after a warrant was granted when intel was presented after lots of intel was put before the judge. Items have been seized and lots of intel has been gathered.
  •

  • Officers from the neighbourhood, traffic, and drone teams have completed an operation to target off road bikes in some of our local parks and open spaces.
  •

  • Oldbury team 1 sergeant has attended a road traffic accident with multiple vehicles involved and made sure everyone at the scene who was involved, and other road users was safe and got everybody at the scene on their way.
  •

    A big thanks to

  • The local schools for allowing us to give inputs to the children.
  • To partnering agencies who have helped us execute the warrant,
  • To the local temple for their warm welcome and hospitality.
  •

    Next week.

We will be continuing with our Junior PCSO sessions as well as delivering knife crime inputs into out local schools. We will also be continuing our reassurance patrols in the local crime hotspots.
