Weekly Bloxwich NHT Message

Dear resident,

Here’s a quick roundup of some of the work we have been doing this week and how we are tackling local priorities in the Bloxwich area.

Shoplifting remains a priority in Bloxwich as well as across the wider borough. To tie in with Safer Business Action week which started on Mon Oct 14 we have launched Operation Marigold. With a dedicated team of both uniformed and non-uniformed officers we will be working closely with businesses and targeting offenders who commit business crime.

Our officers continue to patrol Bloxwich High Street and surrounding areas to act as a deterrent and also reassure local businesses and their staff.

During the week we arrested two individuals on suspicion of theft and on a separate occasion whilst carrying out enquiries at a local shop we prevented a further offence and managed to recover property. Click here to see how we are tackling business crime across Walsall.  Where we also arrested two offenders in different occasions in relation to domestic incidents where we did all the investigation and reassured victims.

We have continued our patrols in areas where we’ve had reports of ASB and continue to engage with people in these areas. As part of our Darker Nights Campaign, we have also started to raise awareness of home security and how to keep your home and other property safe and secure. Visit our Darker Nights Campaign page

This week we were back at Jubilee Academy as part of our Junior PCSO initiative. This is the third session with the pupils. This week we discussed ASB and Cyber Crime. And they had the opportunity to have a look and sit in a police van.

Halloween

Halloween can be a scary time for people who do not like surprises or callers at the door.

Here is our advice for elderly or vulnerable residents:

- Place the ‘no trick or treats’ card on your door or in your window to help deter trick or treaters. You can download and print your own copy below.

- If you do receive an unexpected caller at the door do not feel pressured to answer it

- If you are expecting a delivery or visit from a professional always ask for ID or confirmation of their work place.

- If you have a door chain make sure it is securely fastened at all times and lock your porch door

- Be sure to use your spy hole viewer if you have one. If you have one, talk through your wireless video doorbell

Download and print off our ‘no trick or treats’ poster.
