We've arrested a teenager on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a boy aged 17.

We were called to Station Road in Marston Green, Solihull at around 6.20pm on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old boy was treated for his injuries by the ambulance service, but despite their best efforts he sadly died and a murder investigation has now been launched.

This morning at around 4.30am, we arrested a teenager in Birmingham on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody as our investigation continues.

Our thoughts remain firmly with the victim's family and loved ones at this truly tragic time, and they are being supported by our officers.

A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on Tuesday has been released on police bail.
