    Crime prevention

  • Please consider purchasing a steering wheel lock for your vehicle. This will decrease the chances of your vehicle being targeted by offenders. Also remember to double check that your vehicle is locked, before leaving it unattended. Installing an immobiliser and covert tracking device will also increase the chance of getting your vehicle back should it be stolen.
  • Consider installing an audible car alarm in case your vehicle is tampered with.
  • With the darker nights setting in, please make sure you’re aware of your surroundings when out and about and try to stick to well-lit routes. If you are ever approached by someone that you don’t know, never follow them if asked to do so.
  • As the darker nights set in and colder mornings approach, please make sure that you don’t leave your vehicle unattended when defrosting your windscreen. This can make the vehicle a very easy target for passing thieves, and you won’t be insured for the theft if you’ve left the vehicle insecure.
  • Consider installing anti-snap locks to all external windows and doors on your home. This will make it more difficult for potential burglars to gain access to your home. Installing a monitored burglar alarm is also a great deterrent.

    Local news

    · Home Office funding is provided to West Midlands Police to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime in areas that are identified as having a high rate of these incidents. As a result, local officers have been conducting targeted patrols in these locations, with the aim of providing a visible presence, engaging with the local community and deterring this type of behaviour. When your local Officers are off duty, these patrols are conducted by policing teams from other areas, ensuring that there is continual coverage. Officers record the results of these patrols and the information is then returned to the home office. Your local officers have been hard at work conducting these patrols, so please feel welcome to have a chat when you see us.
