Good afternoon
Are you looking for something new to do for 2025? Do you enjoy meeting new people whilst getting your steps in? Would you like you make a difference in your community? If this sounds something you are interested in then you could joint Street Watch.
Street Watch enables local people to take an active role in keeping their community safe by patrolling their neighbourhood as part of an organised scheme, identifying potential issues, and engaging with local residents encouraging them to report things like antisocial behaviour, vandalism, and suspicious behaviour to the police. The scheme is based on going for a walk with your neighbours, being a visible presence to help deter crime and antisocial behaviour, and building a greater sense of community spirit. Street Watch volunteers are supported by a coordinator who liaises with the other members of the group and their local PCSO's to share information and help progress any initiatives that can help prevent crime and improve safety in the local area. As a Street Watch member, you'll patrol your local area alongside at least one of your neighbours at a time that suits you. You'll talk to people you meet and encourage them to take an active interest in keeping your area safe.
You'll be supported by:
The local Street Watch coordinator Your local Police Community Support Officers You will be able to organise your own walks, when and where you want to, and you can even walk your dog at the same time! It is up to you and your group how much or how little you want to do.
Street Watch is for the community, by the community, but you will be supported by your local neighbourhood team as much as possible.
If you think this sounds like something you'd like to be a part of please contact us on Streetwatch@westmidlands.police.uk
