Dear Resident,
Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Dudley North Neighbourhood Policing Team.
What’s been happening:
• Speed Operation on The Straits Four drivers will be receiving traffic penalty notices and five other drivers will be given a written warning in regards to their speed down The Straits exceeding the 30mph limit. All in all, a successful operation with more to come! • Prolific Shoplifter in Lower Gornal Arrested and Jailed Lewis Boylan, a regular shoplifter in the Gornal, Dudley and Pensnett areas, has been arrested and charged with eight counts of shoplifting. This will be a welcomed bit of news for the shops that had been affected by his criminal activity. • Talks about Theft and Dishonesty at Roberts Primary School In light of the arrested shoplifter, our PCSOs felt that Theft & Dishonesty was a good topic to tackle with Year 6 students at Roberts Primary School. The year group was very engaging, asking many questions about the police and the tricky definition of theft!
A Big Thank You to… • All of the schools that have welcomed us and the Junior PCSOs that continue to work hard to graduate from the programme!
Look out for… • Vehicle registration plates with dirt obscuring the number plate. While on foot patrol, I have seen a number of registration plates that have suffered from the muddy roads. Having an obscured number plate is an offence under the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 – it could result in a £100.00 fine. Please take a moment to wipe down your number plate if it is muddy!
Upcoming Police Surgeries:
When reporting a crime, does it feel like the situation could get heated or violent very soon? Is someone in immediate danger? Do you need support right away? If so, please call 999 now.
If you’ve witnessed or been the victim of crime that isn't an emergency, please report it to us by calling 101 or using our online form that can be found HERE.
Many thanks!
