WEEKLY UPDAYE

Dear Resident

Here is a round-up of what has been happening in Willenhall South, New Invention, and Short Heath this last week.

  • Willenhall officers have continued to patrolled Willenhall Town due to ASB.   We have had further reports of youth causing ASB in Willenhall town Centre.   We are again working with Walsall Council and the youths involved in the ASB will be visited by the Police and the Walsall Council Community Protection team.
  • We have had reports of ASB in Gough Street and Lichfield Road, New Invention.  Officers will be patrolling the area.
  • Willenhall officers have also continued to patrolled around Western Avenue, no reports of any ASB since the end of December 2024.

If you are experiencing ASB please report it by calling 101 or via the West Police Website.

  • Officers have recovered a vehicle in Stroud Avenue for no insurance.
  • PCSO Mulla & Lally have been out with the Stroud Avenue Street Watch on Sunday.   Thank you to the members for their continuing support.  If you are interested in getting involved in Street Watch please email: streetwatch@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk
  • CRIME PREVENTION

It looks like the temperatures are dropping again, which means you may have to allow extra time to defrost your vehicle. Every winter, cars are stolen from driveways across Walsall. Thieves are looking for unattended vehicles with keys in the ignition. Please stay with your vehicle whilst your windscreen defrosts.

  • It may seem obvious, but a large proportion of thefts occur from unlocked vehicles. Check for the signs. Did the lights flash and alarm beep? Are the doors and windows closed?
  • Keep your keys away from windows and doors
  • A steering lock can help stop thieves taking your vehicle. You can purchase steering locks online or in your local auto centre. Additional physical security can help to prevent your vehicle being driven away even if a thief gains entry. There are a range of security rated products tested by Sold Secure that can help, such as steering wheel locks, pedal boxes and gear stick locks.
  • If your car has Keyless Entry and Start (PKES), it can be stolen by ‘Relay Attack’ Put the keys in a screened or signal-blocking pouch, such as a Faraday Bag and check if the bag or pouch is still working every few months.
  • Visit our crime prevention website where you will find a wealth of information and advice to help protect your vehicle.

Follow our social media channels for updates throughout the week.
