Here’s a quick round up from the South Yardley neighbourhood policing team.
What’s been happening:
International day of ZERO tolerance for FGM: Did you know that 6th February is an international day of raising awareness of Female Genital Mutilation. You can out more about FGM on the below: https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/female-genital-mutilation This is a serious crime and affects many women, from young to old world-wide. No one should hesitate on reporting this crime to us. DORCAS is a charity that supports victims of this crime: https://dorcasuk.com/
Business Watch: Another meeting took place, this time with the Swan shopping centre about the ongoing issues they have. This was a successful meeting that allowed shopkeepers to raise their concerns. More meetings are to follow in the coming months for both the Yew tree and at the Swan Shopping centre.
Street Watch: Are you wanting to support your community? Why not join up to our street watch programme. If you are interested please do not hesitate to contact the below details and we will get you signed up.
Litter Picking: New Community Litter Picking taking place on 26th February at 14:00 on Deakins Road, South Yardley. All you need to bring is yourself. However, if you have any litter picking equipment please feel free to bring this along.
Brew with the crew – This has been organised for Friday 17th February 25 between10-12am some of the team will be at South Yardley Library to hear your concerns and issues so these can be addressed. You are all welcome to attend.
