Helping to keep nights out safe this Valentine's Day.

Good morning Resident

With Valentine's day being just around the corner, we want to help create a safe environment. West Midlands Police has been checking in with local bars and licensed venues about the Ask for Angela scheme.

Ask for Angela is a fantastic tool being used by West Midlands Police to help tackle violence against women and girls and to ensure communities are being kept safe.

What is Ask for Angela?

Ask for Angela is a national campaign that is used by bars and other venues to keep people safe, by using the codename 'Angela' to signify that they feel vulnerable or unsafe.

If you feel unsafe, vulnerable or threatened, you can discreetly seek help by approaching venue staff and asking them for 'Angela'. This will indicate to staff that you require help with your situation, and a trained member of staff will be able to assist you. This could be through reuniting you with a friend, seeing you to a taxi, calling venue security or contacting the police.

Valentine's Day is the perfect time for romance, fun nights out, but most importantly, staying safe.

Hope everyone has a great Monday,

Steven.
