Weekly Round-up from Wolves Central NHT Team 2

Good Morning Resident,

Here's a quick round up from me and the rest of the Wolverhampton City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Whats Been Happening.

  • Night Time Economy - Another weekend came and went with our officers patrolling the city, This week they carried out pub walks, which focus on tackling drug dealing, drug use and Anti-social behaviour.
  • Crime Prevention - Police Community Support Officer Shotton was out and about yesterday in the Wulfrun Centre. He had plenty to do with lots of visitors to his crime prevention stand, he was very happy to talk to everyone and i'm sure he gave out lots of freebies.
  • Business Crime - Once again we had a busy week dealing with shoplifting and fraud within the city centre. We continue to work closely with all businesses to identify any shoplifters and deal with them appropriately.
  • Wolverhampton Bus Station - This week we have been working with Safer Travel officers in and around the bus station to tackle Anti-social behaviour. Our aim is to continue providing a safe and comfortable environment within both the bus and train station to make sure that you feel happy when entering or exiting the city centre.
  • Guardian Patrols - Going forward we are continuing with our guardian patrols within the city centre which aim at providing a heightened visual police presence at certain times of the day. These patrols are always focused on Anti-social behaviour, Violent crime and Business crime. Patrolling the city helps us to keep up to date with all the local businesses but also turn our attention to anything new that is happening within the city.
  • What to Watch - We are seeing an increase in Unauthorised Street Sellers. While walking around Dudley Street, Wolverhampton you may be approached by these individuals trying to sell things out of carrier bags. Please if you are approached, kindly refuse to converse with them and walk away. Its quite common that they will be trying to sell ‘Knock Off’ Fragrances. DO NOT PURCHASE AS YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE BOTTLES CONTAIN. REMEMBER, IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN IT PROBABLY IS.
  • Events - For the second week running our PCSOs are planning a Crime Prevention Stand within the Wulfrun Centre, Keep an eye out for further updates with a date and time that we will be there. If you couldn't make this weeks one, please do come and see us next week.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, Stay Safe and have fun.

Please continue to look out for further updates from the team on our X (formerly twitter) page @WolvesPolice
