Community Safety News

Dear Residents,

We are continuing to target criminals, illegal drivers, those involved in violence and anti-social behaviour in Dudley Town Centre and within our local neighbourhoods.

What’s been happening:-

•      Fraud Awareness Scam Event

PCSO’s have attended a Fraud Awareness Scam Event at Barclays Bank, High Street, Dudley along with the bank staff, whereby the public were made aware of purse dipping offences and other fraudulent activities which can take place within a banking environment.

If you are affected by fraud – please contact:-

ActionFraud - National Fraud & Cyber Crime Reporting Centre - Call 0300 123 2040

•      Local Neighbourhood Area

Officers have located several stolen vehicles this week within the Dudley borough and all efforts are being made to return them to their rightful owners.  A vehicle has also been seized due to the driver having his licence revoked.

•      Neighbourhood Team Operations

OP Advance returned on 26th February, this involved the execution of warrants, targeting those carrying knives and tackling retail crime, delivering 24 hours of intensive policing activity.

The local Schools including Russell’s Hall Primary and Foxyard’s Primary have enjoyed their Week 5 of the Junior PCSO Scheme, whereby Litter Picking was the order of the day – lots of litter was disposed of and the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part, the local residents also came out to applaud their efforts.

•      High Visibility Patrols

Whilst on patrols officers were alerted to a burnt-out motor bike on the Wrens Nest Housing Estate – the bike was recovered and efforts are being made to identify the owner.

•      Off Road Bikes

We are continuing our work to tackle problems regarding off road bikes around the Dudley borough.  Any information regarding off road bikes please let us know, as we continue to patrol the areas of concern.

A big thank you to;

Our Russell’s Hall/London Heights Street Watch groups for their continued hard work and support for the local community.

If you have any intelligence which you wish to share with us, please email:
