Dear Resident,

We have a man in custody this morning following an incident in Birmingham.

We were called to Blenheim Way, Oscott shortly after 6.30am today (22 March) after a report of a man with a knife.

Officers attended and arrested a man in his 20s. He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.

One person was taken to hospital for further treatment, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing at this time.

Our officers are remaining at the scene throughout this morning to gather evidence and speak to witnesses.

We believe this was an isolated incident, and enquiries are ongoing to understand the events leading up to it.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area while we carry out our enquiries.
