Team News & Updates

Dear resident

Hope you are all well and having a good start to your week.

Here’s a quick roundup from your local policing team of some of the work we have been doing over the couple of weeks in the Blakenall area.

  • Patrols at Reedswood Retail Park- in response to ASB and Shop thefts- We as a neighbourhood team remain committed to bringing those responsible for committing crime to justice.
  • Patrols – Swannies Field and Goscote in response to reports of off-road bikes. We are urging all those who may know who these riders are to share this information with us. We can then act accordingly.
  • A crime prevention and advice meeting were held at Keelson Pointe, Carl St Bloxwich. Here we discussed a number of issues from parking to staying safe online.
  • Work is continuing in Valley Road in response to Flytipping and ASB. This is currently being tackled with a multi-agency response. Any information as to who is dumping this rubbish – please report to us and the Council right away.
  • Reassurance patrols are being conducted in the Bloxwich Road area in response to a murder enquiry- Five men charged with murder following Walsall stabbing | West Midlands Police
  • Our officers arrested an offender (15/03/25) who had run from police and subsequently stole a vehicle (14/03/25), this offender has been remanded to prison until their court date.
  • A shop lifter was also spotted by our officers whilst out on patrol and taken into custody (22/03/25).

‘Ask the Police’ - your policing questions answered

Ask the police’ is an official police resource that provides Q&A’s to a wide variety of policing questions frequently asked by the general public. It offers an alternative online option, reducing calls to the police, freeing up resources and saving money. Have a question? you can visit the ‘Ask the Police’ website at: www.askthe.police.uk

    Lighter Nights-

As the nights get lighter we understand that more people will likely be out and about later into the evenings.  We encourage residents to take steps in securing their home as we adapt to the lighter nights- for example the use of window blinds and anti-snap locks- remembering to be vigilant when going out and not leaving windows open. More advice on crime prevention can be found on the West Midlands Police website.

    WELCOME

New Sergeant- The neighbourhood team welcomes our new Sgt Liam Townill who takes over from Sgt David Keasey. Sgt Townill joins us from our response department. Sgt Townill has been with West Midlands Police since 2006. We wish him all the best with his new role with the local Neighbourhood team 😊
