Hello Resident,
Another week (or so) has gone by and your neighbourhood team has been hard at work in and amongst the community to keep you all safe! Here is a recap of what’s been going on.
What's Been Happening? Due to recent concerns of increased drug use in target areas, we have increased foot patrols in those areas to deter any new offences, identify suspects and submit intelligence of any reports we find. In recent weeks, this has been hugely successful. We have been able to identify new offenders, raise them both within our policing team and the council, to act both through the criminal route to take effect on those causing these issues. Since these foot patrols have been ongoing, we have identified multiple offenders who have been linked to local offences and arrested as a result. We are aware this is still ongoing, but this is a constant area of focus for us as a neighbourhood team.
A Big Thank-You to… Everyone who attended both meetings we have had this past week. Firstly, our drop-in a Whitmore Reans library on Monday 13th was a huge success once more! It was great to have an informal chat with members of the community in a close space, and it made us aware of new issues that we can now work on to tackle. Secondly, our “Love Your Community” meeting at Newhampton Arts Centre the following evening on Tuesday 14th was another successful evening. Working together with partnering agencies such as the council is a pivotal part of neighbourhood policing. As always, members of the community that attended; it was great to see and speak to them – continuing to raise new issues within the community that we can tackle together, as well as updating them on how we have got on since the last meeting, the successes we have had; and the continued efforts in place.
Look Out For… Our officers continuing to be on foot around high footfall areas such as Bantock Park, West Park, Larches Lane, Lea Road and Newhampton Road East/West. We are delivering more foot patrols to engage more with the public, and tackle issues that are within the community.
As always, if you come across us on duty, please do stop us for a chat! Also, any upcoming meetings that are scheduled, aside from being notified via email, these can be found on your local neighbourhood team’s web page!
Next Week… You may see a drop of messages now and again in-between these weekly round-ups, but if you need us urgently please continue to use 101, 999 in an emergency, or visit our website! Until then, thank you for your time reading! Please feel free to share this around, and we will be in touch!
Thank you, and stay safe! Gemma and Alex, Police Community Support Officers | ||||
