Dear Residents and Local Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
OUR PRIORITES Anti-social Behaviour in Wood End – Our officers are patrolling the area, particularly in and around Hillmorton Road and the Moat House Park and working with officers on the Schools team to identify offenders and carry out home visits. We are also involving Housing associations in some cases where repeat offenders reside in Social Housing properties and are breach of their tenancy agreements. Vehicle Crime in the Walsgrave area – We are doing regular patrols and giving out crime prevention advice. Thefts from Shops - officers on the team have arrested several people in recent weeks for these thefts, and put them through the courts. Many of the offenders have received prison sentences. This has reduced the amount of further offences that we have seen, however our work continues.
VEHICLE CRIME There has been further offences of vehicle crime in the Henley area this week. You can find out about vehicle crime here: Prevent theft from a vehicle | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police and Preventing car and vehicle theft | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police
ARRESTS Our officers have arrested one person on the Henley area for public order offences.
VEHICLE SEIZURES Officers from the team have seized five vehicles on the Henley area this week. One was seized because the driver was a provisional licence holder and was driving unsupervised, which invalidates their insurance. The driver was also reported to court. Three were motorcycles which were recovered as they were stolen. One vehicle was seized as it was being driven on a public road without road tax.
CHARGED Our officers have charged one person with 5 counts of shoplifting, some of which were shops in the Henley area.
PACT We just wanted to remind you about our PACT meeting which we have arranged. The details are as follows:
Wednesday 14th May 7-8pm At Moat House Leisure Centre, Winston Avenue, Coventry CV2 1EA.
There will also be a PCSO present at the meeting who can assist with communication in British Sign Language. Everyone living or working in the Henley area is welcome to attend. We hope to see you there if you can make it.
We are going to be arranging further community meetings in the near future. Please keep an eye on these emails where we will advertise them.
OTHER INFORMATION if you have information about people committing crime that you want to tell us about, you can contact us on the non-emergency telephone number 101 or by visiting us online at Home | West Midlands Police (west-midlands.police.uk) where you will find access to the LIVE CHAT facility. Alternatively you can contact the CRIMESTOPPERS charity anonymously by calling 0800 555 111. This is a free phone number.
