Loneliness Awareness Week 2025

Good Morning Resident

Loneliness Awareness Week 2025: Reaching Out, Building Connections

9 - 15 June 2025

This Loneliness Awareness Week, West Midlands Police is joining organisations across the country to shine a light on the impact of loneliness – and to remind everyone that small acts of kindness and connection can make a big difference.

Run by the Marmalade Trust, Loneliness Awareness Week (9 –15 June 2025) encourages open conversations about loneliness and helps people find ways to reconnect with others in their communities.

Why Loneliness Matters

Loneliness can affect anyone, at any stage of life – from young people feeling isolated at school or university, to older adults living alone or far from family. It’s not just a social issue, but one that impacts mental and physical health, safety, and overall well being.

How You Can Help

You don’t need to be an expert to make a difference. This week, we’re encouraging residents to:

Reach out to a neighbour, friend, or family member you haven’t spoken to in a while.

Invite someone for a walk, a chat, or a cup of tea – even a short conversation can brighten someone’s day.

Get involved in local activities – from volunteering to community events, joining in helps build connection.

If you’re feeling lonely, you're not alone – and support is available. Whether through local well being services, charities, or simply by talking to someone you trust, there are ways to feel more connected.

Together, Let’s Tackle Loneliness
