Bordesley Green Neighbourhood Team โ€“ Weekly Update

Edition: June 2025

Welcome to this weekโ€™s crime and community update for the Bordesley Green area. Our neighbourhood team remains committed to tackling key crime issues affecting residents, especially around domestic abuse, robbery, burglary, and vehicle crime. We also continue to engage with schools and local partners to provide early intervention and support.

Crime Updates

 

Domestic Abuse (DA)

  • 17 incidents reported this week.
    โœ… 1 arrest made in relation to these cases.
    โžก๏ธ Domestic abuse remains a key priority for the team. We urge anyone experiencing abuse, or who suspects someone is at risk, to seek support or report it. All reports are taken seriously and handled with care.
  •  

    Robbery

  • 1 attempted robbery
  • 2 robberies involving personal property
    โžก๏ธ Victims are encouraged to avoid resistance, note suspect descriptions, and report incidents promptly. Patrols remain active in hotspot areas.
  •  

    Burglary

  • 1 residential burglary on Coventry Road (B10).
    โžก๏ธ Please remain vigilant and review your home security โ€” consider alarms, CCTV, and good lighting.
  •  

    Vehicle Crime

  • 1 theft from motor vehicle (TFMV)
  • 1 theft of motor vehicle (TOMV)
    โžก๏ธ Key-less entry theft remains a concern. Please use Faraday pouches, remove visible items, and consider physical deterrents like steering wheel locks.
  •  

    Other Crime Types

  • Assaults: 11 incidents, some linked to domestic matters.
  • Criminal Damage: 6 reports affecting residential properties.
  • Fraud, Arson & General Theft: 1 case each.
    โžก๏ธ Each of these matters is under investigation, and we urge continued community vigilance.

    Team Highlights

     

    Swift Arrest

  • An arrest was made this week in connection with a domestic abuse case. Protecting victims and acting promptly remains a top priority.
  •  

    School Engagement & Prevention Work

     

    Our team visited several local primary schools to support early intervention. Topics covered included:

     

  • Knife crime and personal safety
  • Exploitation awareness
  • Preparing for transition to secondary school
  • Career pathways in policing
  • Tackling racism and hate crime 
  • We strongly believe early education builds safer futures for our young people.

    Community Speed Watch (TBC)

    Weโ€™re preparing a Community Speed Watch operation to address ongoing speeding concerns. This initiative promotes driver awareness and allows residents to be directly involved in improving road safety.
