Weekly update from your local neighbourhood team

Hey everyone,

We've come to the end of another set so here's what we've been upto and what we're planning soon.

What we've done this week:

We visited the Birmingham settlement for a cuppa with a copper, we'll be there more frequently for if you want to come and say hi!

We've seized a vehicle which had been abandoned on a main road.

And we helped congratulate and safeguard students from Fortis academy as they finished off their final exams and left secondary school for the last time.

Crime prevention advice:

. Similarly to last week advice consists of making sure your valuables are safeguarded and out of sight, this alone will help deter opportunists from attempting to gain access to your house or vehicles.

. Parking in a well lit area also helps prevent your vehicle from becoming a target of crime, as well as parking close to your house and where applicable, in a garage or on a driveway.

. Use RFID blocking pouches if your car has a keyless ignition, these prevent criminals from duplicating the signal of your keys and gaining access to your vehicle.

We will continue to offer advice where possible and provide crime prevention materials to anyone that needs them!

In the coming weeks:

. We will be engaging in a few walkabouts with local councillors.

. Continuing high visibility patrols within hotpots to safeguard members of the public.

. Continuing to provide reassurance and crime prevention advice wherever possible.

. A pop up police surgery at One stop shopping centre is being organised.

This has been your end of six update!

We all wish you a great week and remember to keep yourselves safe, if you see us out and about don't hesitate to say hello!

sincerely yours,

The Perry Barr and Oscott neighbourhood team.
