Crime Update in Penn and Merry Hill

Dear Residents,

We want to update you on recent criminal activity in our community and the measures we are taking to ensure safety.

Between 8th June 2025 and 18th June 2025, these  incidents of vehicle theft occurred in Penn and Merry Hill. Investigations were conducted through house-to-house inquiries and CCTV checks, ensuring a thorough approach to help  identifying offenders. Here are some key reports:

  • Orchard Crescent,  (14/06/2025, 07:30) – A Blue Nissan Juke was stolen using a relay device but later recovered in Albrighton after a public tip-off.
  • Linton Road,  (13/06/2025, 03:18) – Two offenders arrived on a red SURRON bike, broke into a black Range Rover, and fled in convoy.
  • Westbourne Road, (16/06/2025, 23:17) – A Blue Mitsubishi Outlander was stolen despite being parked securely outside the victim’s home.
  •   Patrols will be increased in areas of concern. Officers will actively monitor suspicious activity and encourage residents to remain vigilant.

As part of our ongoing commitment to crime prevention, Penn and Merry Hill officers recently hosted a bike registration day in Merry Hill, where numerous bicycles were officially registered to help deter theft and aid in recovery efforts. Bike registration is an essential crime prevention tool, as it allows law enforcement to quickly identify stolen property and return it to rightful owners. Officers provided guidance on securing bicycles effectively, including using high-quality locks and storing bikes in well-lit areas. Given the success of this initiative, we will be holding another registration event in the Penn area soon. We strongly encourage residents to participate, as registering bikes can significantly reduce theft and improve chances of recovery.

For those who were unable to attend the registration day, you can register your bike online via BikeRegister at https://www.bikeregister.com. This free service helps protect your bicycle and increases the chances of recovery if stolen.

We hope everyone is enjoying the current nice weather and making the most of the season! If you notice any suspicious activity, witness a crime, or have concerns, please report crimes through the appropriate channels:

  • Emergencies: Call 999
  • Non-emergencies: Call 101
  • Anonymous reports: Contact Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org
  •

Your vigilance and cooperation play a crucial role in keeping our community safe. Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards Penn and Merry Hill NHT
