Appeal as man dies after collapsing in Erdington

We’re working with Birmingham and Solihull Coroner Service to try to identify a man who died after he collapsed in Erdington. 

The man, who is only known as ‘George’ collapsed on Slade Road, near the junction with George Road on Wednesday 30 April. 

Ambulance colleagues took him to hospital, where he sadly later died. 

Despite a post-mortem examination and thorough investigations by our officers and the Coroner’s office, the man’s identity is still not known.

We know George was approximately 48 years old, with a scar on his forehead and left arm, and is originally thought to be from Romania. 

Our investigations have also led us to believe that George likely came to the UK from Bucharest, socialised in Erdington, and worked at a business near to where he collapsed. 

Although his death is not being treated as suspicious, anyone with information about George should contact us on 101.

Apel pentru identificarea unui barbat care a decedat in zona Erdington, Birmingham, UK

Colaboram cu Seviciul de Medicina Legala din Birmingham si Solihull in incercarea de a identifica un barbat care a decedat in zona Erdington din Birmingham, UK, dupa ce a cazut si si-a pierdut cunostinta. Barbatul, cunoscut sub numele “George”, a cazut pe strada Slade Road, Erdington, in apropierea intersectiei cu strada George Road, in ziua de miercuri, 30 aprilie 2025. Barbatul a fost transportat la spital de catre Serviciul de Ambulanta, unde, din nefericire, nu a mai putut fi ajutat si ulterior a fost declarat decesul. 

Desi barbatului i s-a facut o autopsie, si o investigatie detaliata a politiei in colaborare cu Serviciul de Medicina Legala a avut loc, identitatea acestuia nu a putut fi stabilita. 

Stim ca “George” avea aproximativ 48 de ani la data decesului, o cicatrice pe frunte si una pe bratul stang si se presupune ca ar fi originar din Romania. 

Investigatia noastra a condus la concluzia ca “George” ar fi calatorit in Marea Britanie din Municipiul Bucuresti, a socializat in zona Erdington si a lucrat la o companie in apropierea zonei unde a decedat. 

Desi decesul nu este considerat suspect, oricine are informatii despre “George” este invitat sa contacteze West Midlands Police la numarul de telefon 101.
