Henley Updates

Dear Residents and Local Businesses,

Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:

PATROLS

Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Henley areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime such as Hillmorton Road, Crosspoint Retail Park and Holiday Inn, Hinckley Road.

ARRESTS

One person has been arrested by officers on the team for shoplifting alcohol and electrical items at Tesco, Crosspoint on 21/08/25.

ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

We are receiving several reports of anti-social behaviour in and around Wood End . We have identified some of the people involved and are taking action against them in partnership with local housing providers.

VEHICLE CRIME

We are continuing to see vehicle crime in the Walsgrave area, in particular around the hotels.  Some of which of which are tools being stolen from vans. We would encourage all traders to remove all tools from vans overnight and also keep your vans locked and alarmed during the day whilst in use. There has also been an increase in keyless vehicles being stolen. We recommend that owners of these vehicles use a steering wheel lock to prevent against theft.

We have had multiple thefts from vehicles at the hotels in Walsgrave.

The first theft from vehicle took place at Holiday Inn between 18:00 on 19/08/25 and 07:15 on 20/08/25 where a vehicle had a rear window smashed and a laser measure, backpack and laptop taken from within. Crime reference 20/349905/25 refers.

The second theft from vehicle took place at Holiday Inn between 22:00 on 19/08/25 and 08:00 on 20/08/25 where a van has entry forced and a black holdall of personal belongings has been taken. Crime reference 20/350040/25 refers.

The third theft from vehicle took place at Holiday Inn between 09:00 on 19/08/25 and 06:30 on 20/08/25 where a vehicle had the rear windowscreen smashed and approximately £2000 worth of tools has been taken. Crime reference 20/350771/25 refers.

The fourth theft from vehicle took place at Holiday Inn between 21:30 on 20/08/25 and 07:30 on 21/08/25 where a vehicle had a rear window smashed and a laptop bag containing a laptop, diary and some hand tools taken from within. Crime reference 20/351609/25 refers.

HOUSING

We are working closely with housing associations such as Citizen and Orbit to keep them informed of any of their tenants who are repeatedly involved in crime and anti-social behaviour, because it is a breach of their tenancy agreement. We are also carrying out joint visits with the housing officers to some addresses.  On some occasions this has resulted in troublesome families being evicted from their home.
