DNO Update 12/10/25 |
||
Good morning Elmdon,
I hope you are all ok, safe and happy. This has been a busy few days for the LEOS team having assisted on multiple arrests and supporting response in the day to day of policing. I myself have assisted in arresting two offenders that regularly cause issues in the area. This is among the other day to day police work myself and the LEOS conduct. It is unfortunate that I have to report multiple burglaries and motor vehicles in the area recently. There is no pattern in terms of location, however most have occurred during the evening and into the early morning. With the nights now getting darker earlier, I would like to ask residents to consider the safety of themselves and their home. Noone should have to take steps themselves to ensure their safety, although we the latest statistics I would heavily encourage you all to take the time to see if the security of your home can be increased. I have attempted to attach a useful document to this email. This will be the first time doing so using the WMNow messaging service and I apologise if this is not attached. Please look out for it in a few days and I will resend it. The document provides various ways for you to examine the security of your home and offers various solutions to your problems. As always, if you see me out and about please feel free to come and say hello and ask for any advice you might need. One thing people often get surprised with is the ability that criminals have to steal cars without having the keys. Many cars now operate a keyless start feature, if this is you, please purchase a Faraday pouch or box. These cancel all signals that car keys give off and will help prevent thieves from stealing your car. Hoping to end this message on a high though, I received a great response to both Street Watch and Speed watch recruiting. I now have various volunteers that are soon to be trained by our Street Watch coordinator. They will soon be out patrolling Elmdon park working with and directly reporting to police. Thank you all for signing up, I greatly appreciate you and the time you’re dedicating to this. Recruitment will reopen in a few weeks after this starts running. Thank you all who attended the first online speed watch course. I am currently looking to set up the first operation, I am also looking to arrange an in-person training session for anyone unable to join the teams meeting. I hope to have this arranged shortly so please keep an eye on your messages in the near future for that. As always stay safe and have a great week, PC Dan Murray | ||
