Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team |
||
|
Hello, and welcome to your round up from the St Matthew’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, part of Walsall’s Local Policing Area (LPA). Keeping the different communities in St Matthew’s informed of some of the activities that we have done recently.
Some things that we have been doing on our patch recently:
On 08/11/25 St Matthew officers were proud to represent West Midland Police at the Remembrance Parade in Walsall. It was wonderful to see the turn out and everyone involved did an amazing job.
This week has been Safer Business Action Week and officers have been visiting retailers in Walsall town centre this week tackling crimes impacting businesses in our local communities and also been conducting hi visibility patrols in and around the town. A number of arrests have been made for shop thefts. Officers also conducted pop up surgeries in the major supermarkets on our beat.
Officers also attended the Festival of Lights Lantern Procession at the Caldmore Community Gardens, the turn out was good and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a positive engagement with the community.
A community speed watch was conducted on Mellish Road, 255 vehicles passed in the hour and 4 vehicles were in excess of the speed limit and will receive appropriate warnings.
Advice from the Team: The festive season is soon approaching, and its time to start getting into the holiday spirit while staying safe. Things to consider are vehicle security, home security and personal safety.
Going forward: We are committed to continue meeting with the various communities in St Matthew’s as part of proactive working. We know there are a lot of different community groups within St Matthew’s, if you know of any, who you think would like a visit or chat, please get in touch, it’ll be great to see and hear from you. To get in touch, see ‘keep in touch ‘below. As well as groups, individuals can get in touch, by using information below.
Just in case you are interested: In any volunteering in a community near you, we have a number of different options available. In some groups you can offer as little as 2 hours of volunteering a month. If you want to know more, you can:
