Longford Updates |

|
Dear Residents & Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
PATROLS Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Longford areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour, and our local green spaces.
VEHICLE CRIME & BURGLARY We have had no reports of any burglaries in the Longford area this week, however we have had two reports of theft of motor vehicle.
The first incident occurred between 18:00 on 22/03/2026 and 10:00 on 23/03/2026 whereby a Hyundai Ionic 5 was locked and secured on Purcell Road and was stolen without keys. If you may have seen anything suspicious, please contact us quoting 20/188951/26.
The second incident occurred between 23:00 on 23/03/2026 and 04:30 on 24/03/2026 on Carey Street where a Abarth Grande Punto was stolen without keys. We believe the window to have been smashed during the theft. If you may have saw or heard anything, please contact us quoting 20/190271/26.

ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR We recently saw a small spike in anti-social behaviour from young females at the Arena Shopping Park in Longford. We have done some multi-agency working with Warwickshire Police to address these issues and speak to the parents of the girls involved. They have all been issued with a 12 month banning order prohibiting them returning to site.
OTHER INFORMATION We attended the 82nd Scout Hut this week to do a session and Q&A with the Cubs group. We had lots of exciting questions from the group about our roles in the community and neighbourhood policing.
We have now confirmed dates for our next community meetings and engagements: Cuppa With A Copper – Park Edge Family Hub, Roseberry Avenue – 26/03/2026 at 17:30-18:30 PACT Meeting - St Thomas' Church, Longford Road - 29/04/2026 at 18:00-19:00 PACT Meeting - St Thomas' Church, Longford Road - 25/08/2026 at 18:00-19:00
If you have information about people committing crime that you want to tell us about, you can contact us on the non-emergency telephone number 101. You can also report to us online using our report forms on: Report | West Midlands Police
Alternatively you can contact the CRIMESTOPPERS charity anonymously by calling 0800 555 111. This is a free phone number. CRIMESTOPPERS can also be contacted online here: Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously | Crimestoppers (crimestoppers-uk.org)
Please do not report crime via WMnow because it is not always monitored.
Kind regards, The Henley & Longford Neighbourhood Policing Team | ||
