Dear Residents, Here is your crime update for 24th of March to 1st April 2026
There was an attempt to break into an address on FRANKTON CLOSE. The offenders attempted to gain entry by breaking the lock of the front door, but were disturbed and did not gain access. The offenders arrived in a white VW Polo and a White van. There was an attempt to steal a BMW R1250 motorbike on VALLEY ROAD, The offenders attempted to break the steering lock with a hammer, but were disturbed and did not steal the bike. A Ford PUMA that was parked overnight on LODE LANE had its front bumper and registration plate stolen.
Good News! PC James and PCSO Smith conducted a speed watch yesterday on Broad Oaks Road following concerns raised by local residents. The highest recorded speed was 34mph, we will be conducting further checks again soon in the area. If you are interested in conducting community speed watch checks with your local officers, please get in touch and we will make contact to get this arranged.
Vehicle crime prevention advice We have had a few vehicle offences in the Lyndon, Elmdon, Olton and Silhill area recently, therefore I am sharing some vehicle related crime prevention advice. Use a steering wheel lock, this makes it harder for thieves to drive a vehicle if they get inside it. Place the keys in a faraday pouch. The pouch reduces the signal given out by the key, making it harder for thieves to unlock the vehicle with a relay device. Remove valuable items from your vehicle. Opportunistic thieves may target your vehicle for the items inside if they are on display. Fit anti tamper screws to your vehicles registration plates. This makes them harder to steal. Please check our social media page on X (formerly twitter) @LeosWMP for updates on what the team are doing. Please continue to remain vigilant. Please report any suspicious activity. In an emergency always call 999.
Have a lovely rest of the week and we will update you again at the end of our next set.
