Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team |
||
|
Hello resident,
I hope this message finds you well. As we being our journey through the month of April, we wanted to share a quick round-up of the week in relation whatβs been happening across our local area, whatβs coming up, and how weβre working together to keep our community safe and thriving.
The first week of April has seen the difficulties on the Bordesley Green team continue. Staffing has continued to be constrained with training, annual leave and abstractions to various operations and other departments. We have had to provide our officers to assist with events in Birmingham City Centre, however the largest drain of our resources has been supporting with response policing. Despite uplifts, we still see demand outstrip resources. Due to the risk in live calls to the police, those pitfalls must be filled by other departments and neighbourhood policing is always the first to be used. We are left with the use of a very small amount of officers to police our entire patch. You will have noticed our visibility drop and that is because we are having to use what we have in the areas that need it most or we may not have a single officer to patrol our neighbourhood. This is not ideal and we continue to argue on a daily basis to deliver a service that YOU deserve. However despite that being said, our officers have continued in their efforts to provide an excellent service to our community. Officers had a really positive meeting with McDonald's regarding ongoing ASB at the location, we are exploring multiple avenues to improve the ASB within the area. Tickets have been issued to several vehicles in the area for being parked in a dangerous position, meaning that a minimum of three penalty points and Β£100 fine will be issued to those responsible. We have attended ASDA and provided reassurance to staff and security at the location, we continue to work with them to identify shoplifters and prevent crime. With schools being closed for Easter, we visited New Roots at Bordesley Green Allotments to see how our vulnerable adults were getting on, they always appreciate a visit from uniformed officers.
π Local Priorities Our current focus areas include: Issues have long been raised around parking and we have always been out completing tickets where possible. We have continued this and are nearly at over a hundred tickets for the month.
Weβre continuing patrols and targeted operations in these areas, and welcome any feedback or concerns youβd like to raise. π Upcoming Police & Community Engagements π Provide details of upcoming policing events or opportunities for the community to meet officers and engage directly. π How to Contact Us or Report Information π π¬ Stay Connected with Your Local Team: π€πΌ Thank you for working with us to keep Birmingham safe and informed.
