Tettenhall Neighbourhood Police Updates |
||
|
Good afternoon Just a quick update in relation to the shoplifters targeting our area..
PC Evans 24458 and PC Bolton -Betts 23452 from the Tettenhall Neighbourhood Team have been working tirelessly to catch these offenders and get them before the Courts which results in a lot of paperwork and commitment.
These shoplifters are prolific and its not just one offence to deal with it can quickly escalate to multiple so its important for us to act fast as you can see on the below message.
Our teams are keeping up the pressure on the criminals who target our shops, stealing from the shelves and threatening staff, with a number of arrests and convictions over the past month. Across Wolverhampton city centre and the wider borough the neighbourhood officers are working hard with partners, including retailers, security professionals and the local authority, to identify and detain persistent offenders. Over on the west side of the city, three suspects were arrested within a week after a One Stop shop was repeatedly targeted on Oxley Moor Road. The Tettenhall Neighbourhood Team detained a man and a woman on 27 March following a number of thefts over the previous couple of weeks. Rachel Jones, aged 40, was charged with 15 counts of shop theft and when she appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court last week. She admitted the charges and was jailed for 36 weeks. A 31-year-old man was charged with eight thefts and is due to face trial later this year. He is on court bail with strict conditions until then. A couple of days later the team were back in action again arresting a suspect following a short foot chase on Stafford Road, after thefts the previous week at the One Stop shop and a Co-Op on Stafford Road. The 45-year-old man was charged with three counts of shop theft and is due in court later this month.
Kind Regards PCSO Helen Denyer 30161
