Weekly round-up from your local Neighbourhood Team
Hello, and welcome to your round up from the St Matthew’s Neighbourhood Policing Team 1, part of Walsall’s Local Policing Area (LPA). Keeping the different communities in St Matthew’s informed of some of the activities that we have done recently.
Some things that we have been doing on our patch recently:
Team 1 have been working alongside the Summer Safer town, conducting high visibility patrols and a number of stop searches made with drugs being seized and a number of arrest have been made.
Officers were also handed several knives found by local community group. These have been disposed in the knife bins.
An engagement was conducted at the Refugee And Migrant Centre.
The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner visited Walsall town centre and has announced that rebuilding community policing is his top priority and more officers will be introduced to local neighbourhood policing.
As a team we are striving to make your community a better place to live and shop in and we are committed in our efforts to achieve this.
Advice from the Team:
If you do own a keyless entry vehicle, please make sure that your keys are kept in a faraday pouch (always remember to check your Faraday pouch is still working), when at home or out and about, this will stop thieves getting the signal for your vehicle. Using a steering wheel lock is also a visual deterrent.
Please remember to lock all windows and doors, do not leave keys in your doors, especially if you have a cat/dog flap, before heading out make sure your home looks like someone is in.
