Crime updates for the Castle Bromwich area
Burglary- There has been one reported burglary between Monday 17th August 2026 and Saturday 22nd August 2026.
Between 10.00pm on the 19th of August 2026 and 6.30am on the 20th of August 2026 offender has gained entry to a property on Parkfield Drive through an insecure front door. Offender made off with victim’s passport, laptop and coat.
2026 and 7.00am on the 21st of August 2026 offender has entered a vehicle parked on Kyter Lane a stole a pouch containing £350 and various bank cards.
Theft of motor vehicle – There has been no reports of Theft of a motor vehicle between Monday 17th August and Saturday 22nd August 2026.
Theft from a motor vehicle – There has been three reports of Theft from a motor vehicle between Monday 17th of August and Saturday 22nd of August 2026.
At 5.08pm on the 19th of August offender has entered an unlocked car parked on West Avenue and stole items left inside the vehicle.
On the 20th of August between 12pm and 4.20am unknown offender has entered a vehicle parked on Carlton Mews and stole a wallet from inside.
Between 8.09pm on 20th August 2026 and 7.00am on the 21st August 2026 offender has entered a vehicle parked on Kyter Lane a stole a pouch containing £350 and various bank cards.
Interference with a motor vehicle - There have been no reports of Interference with a motor vehicle between Monday 17th August and Saturday 22nd August 2026.
What’s been happening? Good news.
Officers have made several arrests this week in relation to domestic incidents and thefts from shops in the local area.
PC Wheatley has been taking part in a new initiative visiting local youths who are heading in the direction of knife crime and exploitation. This initiative concentrates on prevention and intervention to reduce knife crime.
PCSO’s Khan and Collins have located a stolen vehicle (Ford Kuga) this evening in Auckland Drive. The vehicle has been recovered.
The team in collaboration with partners and local councillors took part in a multi-Agency community initiative tackling anti-social behaviour in the Smiths Wood area.
Following complaints around speeding, we have conducted a speed watch with our local volunteer group in Green Lane and Hurst Lane North, monitoring the 20mph limit that is in force. Unfortunately, we caught numerous vehicles travelling over the speed limit.
Please be mindful of the changes across the borough where 20mph limits are in place. If the 20mph limit is only in place during school times, there will be a signage to inform you of this. If there is no signage confirming this then it will always be a 20mph limit.
The team helped run the Open Day at Chelmsley Wood Police Station on the 18th of August. This was a lovely well-attended event and received lots of good feedback.
The Smiths Wood Officers & PCSO’s supported West Midlands Fire Service as they tackled the fires across the Force area and in particularly holding the cordon around the Stourbridge incident. Our thoughts are with the Stourbridge community and all those affected.
