Neighbourhood Update Hello Resident. I hope you’re doing well.
I am Police Community Support Officer Ben Priest here to give you the weekly Neighbour Hood Update.
What has our team been doing? Our team have seized a total of five vehicles since our last WMNow message where four were seized for no Tax and one was seized for being stolen. We are also working closely with BCC to address the issues of abandoned/untaxed vehicles where any information we can relay to each other is done, helping us both to get rid of as many abandoned vehicles as possible.
Our officers have attend the Police And Communities Together Meeting (P.A.C.T meeting) where we have been able to speak about issues within the area of Bartley Green such as the issues with Off-road Bikes, Parking around Newman University, abandoned vehicles in certain areas and more. I just want to take this moment to say thank you to everyone who attended the meeting and raised concerns to our team. We hope in time you can see our team be able to respond and tackle the issues what have been raised. Thank you
Upcoming events for August Here you can find a list for our future community events with the following dates and times: On 23/10/26 at 11:00-12:00 AM, our officers will be at Bartley Green Library on Adams Hill where you can come and speak to us about any concerns you may have.
What’s been occurring in Bartley Green Since the last WMNOW message, we have received two reports of theft of a Motor Vehicle. We advise that you lock your car and make sure your windows are fully up and not down in any way. We then advise that you invest in additional security features such as a DISK Lock, tracking device or even a Handbrake/gear stick lock. Making it harder for offenders to steal your vehicle or even not bother trying to steal it.
Since the last WMNOW message, we have had two reports of theft from a motor vehicle. We advise that you double check that your car is locked and that all the windows are up properly so no one can gain access to your vehicle. We also advise that you do not leave any valuables, items or even bags left lying around in your car, as offenders will take the risk of breaking into your vehicle even for an empty plastic bag, in hopes that something is inside of it.
Additional Information We encourage residents to register their home/business CCTV and doorbell cameras, as this helps us to solve crimes and get a positive outcome, as your CCTV cameras can provide us the appropriate footage what captures the crime in question. This helps us solves crimes but also helps to keep your community safer. Use the link below to register your CCTV cameras by putting in the relevant details what the West Midlands Police website asks of you CCTV Registry | West Midlands Police
As of this moment we currently have 1026 members signed up to Bartley Green on wmnow. If you know someone who may have an interest in joining, then please share them this links below, so that they can fill out the boxes the websites ask of them.
We are still experiencing an increase of demand from across the area over the last few weeks, with more people calling and asking for help. Our staff work extremely hard to answer and respond to your calls and live chats. But due to the high demand it can cause callers to have to wait longer than they should, what is something neither of us want at all. We prioritize your enquires/calls based on how urgent they are, but we always appreciate that you want help as soon as possible.
In Non-emergencies circumstances, we want you to get in contact with us through the live web chat, or the Non-emergency telephone 101. If your circumstances are emergencies, then please call 999. Bartley Green Neighbourhood Team. | ||
