Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅❗
Operation Mischief 🎆 Operation Mischief has commenced and we have been cracking down on illegal fireworks being sold to Under 18s, and gathering intelligence on stores selling them illegally. Advice has been given to schools in attempt to teach children surrounding the safety concerns of using fireworks and the consequences that risk public safety.
Darker Nights 👻 Darker Nights continues… And so, prioritising the safety of everyone (As usual), continues too! Advice surrounding fireworks, Halloween and protection of your homes can be viewed via the West Midlands Police Website. Secured by Design is the official police security initiative, owned by UK Policing, with the specific aim of reducing crime and helping people live more safely.
👋 Say Hello to the New PCSO! Last week we had a new PCSO that has joined the Washwood Heath Neighbourhood team, working towards our aim of increasing the presence of police in Alum Rock and Washwood Heath. So if you see him make sure to say hello!

🫵 You Said “Target ASB within Alum Rock”
“Knock Door Run” Numerous reports surrounding a current trend has been brought to attention. This concept is named “Knock Door Run” whereby individuals knock on peoples doors and running away without speaking to the recipient, thereby affecting the wellbeing of those living at these addresses, which could ultimately result in harassment down the line. This will be brought to the attention of schools, in attempt to plaster posters within ALL schools and other third spaces, to advice against these actions, explaining the affect of peoples
Proactive Patrols We have been targeting ASB hotspots within Alum Rock, where nuisance behaviour has been avidly reported, resulting in a stop and search over at Ward End Park, recovering small amounts of Cannabis.
🫵 You Said “Too Many Parking issues along Alum Rock and Washwood Heath Road”
Traffic Enforcement Operations Commencing throughout November and December, numerous Traffic Enforcement Operations will take place, targeting vehicles causing an unnecessary obstruction, i.e.. blocking the pavement or road, partnering with the Parking Enforcement Team. Vehicles parking on zigzags will also be a priority ensuring the safety of children on return to school.
Stolen Cars We have recovered a stolen car this week and continue searching. This find also resulted in an arrest on the suspect 💪
