Good morning everyone, Crime Update: On the 28th of October there was a break in at an address on Gospel Lane in the early evening where an unknown offender has kicked open the kitchen door and carried out a search for a set of car keys within the address. The offenders have fled without the keys and more work is underway to identify them with forensic opportunities. The same date saw a burglary on Berkswell Close where offenders have forced open a bathroom window and carried out an untidy search of the upstairs with a gold ring stolen from the address. CCTV and forensic opportunities at the address have provided officers with lines of enquiry to explore. On the 1st of November there was a theft of motor vehicle from Streetsbrook Road where a Blue Nissan Qashqai was stolen while locked and secured on the owner’s driveway. Stolen by unknown means and the investigation is underway. On the 3rd of November a white BMW 330D was stolen while locked and secured using keyless means on Stoneleigh Road by unknown offenders have left in the car following the offence. Good News: Some great proactive work this past week and weekend with three stolen cars recovered and two suspects in cuffs following a foot chase. Officers were on patrol when we came across the vehicles with the suspects inside. With the help of our response team colleagues, we were able to get hands on with the suspected car thieves. The investigation is underway with multiple lines of ongoing enquires to allow us to make follow up arrests and charge the suspects. A further vehicle was seized which was used in crime, and this is now off the road and out of the hands of criminals. The team were able to finally shut down a problem property on the patch this week. After months of working with the council a flat which was being frequented by drug users, drug dealers, anti-social youths and more has been boarded up and had the locks changed awaiting refurbishment and a new, hopefully law-abiding tenant moving in. The former occupant caused numerus issues for local residents and ourselves and multiple calls to service. The team have been out and about on dedicated tasking around the anti-social behaviour and the use of fireworks in public spaces during the Halloween period. We have been responding to the calls as they have landed and been proactive in tackling the issues based upon the information kindly provided by the community. The team have been staying on after late shifts again to keep on top of the area’s vehicle crime, a number of suspect vehicles were pulled over and, checked and search. With one car found full of used drug paraphernalia and action taken against the driver. A suspect male was stopped in the early hours and checked after being believed to be have been involved in break ins in the area. We look forward to getting in touch again soon! | ||
