Dear Resident It's BonfireNight, but let's be considerate! Bonfires and fireworks can cause stress to neighbours, wildlife, and pets. We want you and your family, friends and neighbours to enjoy this Bonfire Night's fireworks, but remember safety is key! Fireworks are great, but they can also be dangerous. The best way to stay safe is by attending organised displays and leaving the fireworks to the experts! Our partners West Midlands Fire Service have lots of advice on staying safe while celebrating. To make sure you stay on the right side of the law please read the national guidelines here Fireworks are great, but they can also cause distress. If you are worried about someone misusing fireworks in your area, let us know. We have an antisocial behaviour action plan that shows how we’re dealing with ASB in your area. Report ASB to us on 101 or by talking to us online. You’ll see more police officers on the ground in your local area this Bonfire Night. If you know someone who is selling fireworks to underage children report it to trading standards here You'll see more officers out on patrol around antisocial behaviour hot spot areas. If you spot anyone misusing fireworks or aiming them at buildings, people, or vehicles, report it to us on 999.
Road Safety this Bonfire Night If you're riding your bike to a firework display make sure you equip it with lights and wear reflective gear. When leaving your bike in a public place be sure to park up near CCTV, in a bike shelter, and use a D-lock through two parts of the bike. Stay visible and make your night-time rides safe and enjoyable! Prevent theft with our advice here: As the nights grow darker, it is important to check your vehicle's headlights, brake lights, and tyres are all in working order. You might see more families, pets, and other road users out celebrating Bonfire Night. Kill your speed, put your phone away, and never get behind the wheel if you have been drinking. You can report unsafe driving, and submit dashcam footage here: Operation Snap Visit the THINK website for more advice: THINK! – Road safety Walsall Police
