Dispersal order in place to combat anti-social behaviour in Brownhills |

Dear Resident We've put a 48-hour dispersal order in place in Brownhills town centre due to anti-social behaviour. The section 35 dispersal order starts today (Thursday) at 5pm lasting until 5pm on Saturday and covers the area shown on the map. We will have extra officers in the area who will have the power to disperse anyone engaging in anti-social behaviour and causing a public nuisance. They can be excluded for up to 72 hours from the area. Our neighbourhood team has been working with officers from Walsall’s Prevention Hub to address the issues which includes anti-social behaviour aimed at staff and customers at local businesses. We’re investigating criminal offences including assault and we will be taking action against those involved in any anti-social behaviour. We continue to work with our partners including Walsall Council’s Protection Officers to combat the issues. Inspector Nazia Kauser, neighbourhood policing manager for Brownhills and Aldridge, said: “We continue to work with our partners including Walsall Council to combat this unacceptable behaviour which needs to stop. “Criminal activity reported is investigated and appropriate action will be taken. We have extra officers in the area to combat these issues and offer reassurance. We also would like parents and guardians to take responsibility as well and ensure you know where your children are and what they are doing.” You can report anti-social behaviour by ringing 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 55111. We launched our Mischief Fortnight campaign to help keep our communities safe during this busy period. During Bonfire Night and over the next few days you'll see more police officers out and about in your neighbourhoods. They'll be keeping an eye on things to prevent crime and make sure everyone stays safe. Officers will be stepping up patrols in neighbourhoods and near popular event spots to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves safely and responsibly. If you want to report something suspicious call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
